The Heartland Interior Design is heavily influenced by nature, travel and authenticity. Tara and her team design one-of-a-kind spaces for a diverse group of clients across the country. None of their projects look alike because each client is different. You aren’t like everyone else, and your space shouldn’t be either.
Rather than apply a specific look across all projects, they strive to learn about each client’s tastes and personal style in order to develop a unique environment perfectly suited for them. They build upon each client’s way of life, general aesthetic, brand story, and target market.
The Heartland Interior Design is perpetually drawn to styles that are: Natural, Textural, Elevated, Contrasting, Authentic, Creative, Artistic, Enjoyable and Grounded. The Heartland Interior Design’s projects span across the United States with previous projects all over Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas and beyond. Their team is equipped to handle any project no matter where the location is.
Sourcing locally made items is paramount to The Heartland Interior Design. They strive to work with local artists, woodworkers, metal artisans, ceramicists and craftsmen on every project because they believe that each project’s location has something special to offer.
Their process involves listening carefully to each client in order to reflect their client’s tastes, and encouraging them to be open minded and think outside the box. This results in a custom project that is truly unique.

Interior Design

Over a decade of design experience in both the Commercial and Residential Interior Design industries
Graduated from a "Council of Interior Design Accreditation" approved university: University of Nebraska Lincoln - College of Architecture.
Earned a degree in Interior Design from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln via the Architecture College
Is a member of the International Interior Design Association
Attends continuing education seminars to stay up do date with changes in the industry

TEAM MEMBERS
Chelsey Segura
Raised in Upstate New York and Nebraska, Chelsey has unmatched organizational skills. She enjoys the technical side of design and is well versed in a plethora of creative software programs. She’s a quiet extrovert who loves being a tourist in her own city. In the summer you can find her at farmer’s markets and local restaurants. In the winter you can find her curling up with a good book. Chelsey takes pride in documenting the details because she loves how the critical information makes the design become a reality.
Josie Clymer
This Nebraska native has a colorful background in land development, workplace solutions, and federal healthcare design. She excels in communication, building codes and problem solving. Josie enjoys spending time with her family and her greatest joy in life is being an aunt. In the summer she enjoys playing sand volleyball and getting lost in her garden. The most exciting part of the design process is the conceptual phase for Josie because she loves thinking outside of the box.
Brooke Burds
Originally from Fort Lauderdale Florida, Brooke has a deep love for the creative side of projects and transforming ideas into reality. This is what fuels her passion for digital design and content creation. Outside of work, she finds joy in painting, having previously run a pet portrait business where she painted dogs and cats for their owners. Additionally, she enjoys roller skating outdoors and traveling to different countries. Another aspect of her work that she loves is that through digital design she feels her work can make any information engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
Tara Miller
Born and raised in Nebraska, Tara still lives here and chooses to raise her family here. Tara is abounding with new and creative ideas. She loves to brainstorm, think outside the box and strive for unique design solutions that haven’t been seen before. When she’s not working, she enjoys archery competitions with her cousins, Brazilian jiu jitsu, line dancing and karaoke. She loves to take her son to the zoo and the pumpkin patch as well. Tara loves to travel internationally to see both the art and architecture she’s studied in the past. She finds inspiration in almost everything but loves nature the most.
