WAX BUFFALO
PROJECT SUMMARY: When this hand-poured, pure soy candle company decided to open a retail storefront, our goal was to make sure there was no disconnect between the brand’s known aesthetic, and their retail environment. We got to know the owner, the team, their brand and their work well, which enabled us to authentically communicate their brand through interior design. We used programmatic concepts such as “character” and “hierarchy” to create an enjoyable customer experience and reinforce the brand identity. The floor plan was designed in a way to invite customers in, pull them through the space, and highlight the product as the true art within the space. The brand has multiple slogans so we incorporated two. One was the “Collaboration over Competition” which we fabricated out of moss in order to bring in a natural element. Then we implemented the “BEAUTIFULLY IMPERFECT” verbiage by placing it over a bench near the point of sale counter so all customers would see it.
