The goal of this project was to create a big impact in a small space while drawing the consumer’s attention to the products and reinforcing brand identity. This was accomplished by the strategic placement of logos, windows, bonbons, products and the color scheme. We had the logos fabricated by a local metal artisan who burnished the brass by hand which evokes a similar level of craftsmanship to the hand-painted bonbons sold in store. One was placed on the front desk facing the door so it immediately establishes brand identity upon entry. The other logo was mounted on stand-offs and floats in front of the dimensional wooden wall that looks like abstracted chocolate bars. The interior windows allow customers to see from the retail space into the kitchen where the chocolates are being created and hand-painted. The custom acrylic trays were designed to hold bonbons, a title card, and are sized to be on display during the day and stored in under-counter fridges at night. The trays have frosted bottoms to subtly blur of the caramel countertop below and let the bonbons stand out. Earthy greens, dark brown and caramel tones were chosen to compliment the brand’s packaging and color scheme.
